Social Networking Action Plan Ideas
Want to get the most out of your social networking? Here is a list of ideas to get you moving along:
• Join new professional/trade organizations to broaden your network.
• Read the Wall Street Journal every day.
• Volunteer for a non-profit organization on a committee which serves an entirely different function than you work in daily.
• Meet with a different “expert/influencer” every month for breakfast, lunch or after work to discuss their journey to success.
• Meet with an accomplished person (accomplished in a quality/areas that you would like to develop) every month to discuss how they developed those skills.
• Offer to serve as an officer, board member or speaker/presenter for professional organizations.
• Work on a company team/committee in an area of the organization in which you are interested (either functionally or operationally). Ask questions; build relationships.
• Register for a training Module that would enhance some of your top competencies.
• Take a course unrelated to anything you do or in a skill you would like to develop and think about how you could utilize that new skill in your work.
• Redesign your work and/or your work team based on your values and mission; trade some responsibilities with others on your team.
• Record positives that happen in your journal–values that are evident in others’ behavior.
