Marilyn: What sign are you? I am a Gemini
Cleopatra: I am Queen of Ancient Egypt. “I will not be triumphed over.”

Marilyn: Oh, I get it – I am a Hollywood Celebrity…. And, “If I’d observed all the rules, I’d never have got anywhere.” Thinking of your historic time, it must have been difficult to be a queen!
Cleopatra: Ahem, yes… However, “Celerity is never more admired than by the negligent.” And, yes, it was difficult, but my Destiny.
Marilyn: Well! Being a celebrity had its moments, I agree – and it had its challenges…“I don’t mind living in a man’s world as long as I can be a woman in it.”
Cleopatra: Men were considered the only smart ones during my time…However, I proved them wrong – as I was well versed in many academics. What languages do you speak? I know several….

Marilyn: I speak “sexy” – However, “A sex symbol becomes a thing. I just hate to be a thing.” And, “Being a sex symbol is a heavy load to carry, especially when one is tired, hurt and bewildered.” So, I had to carry myself – sometimes with this weight – and feeling of being alone….
Cleopatra: I agree – Some may think that I was a sex symbol, and many people do not realize that I am a descendent of Alexander the Great – a Greek conqueror who was of strength and tenacity, much of how I had to carry myself as a ruler.
Marilyn: Well, I am a movie goddess, adored by the public – and “I knew I belonged to the public and to the world, not because I was talented or even beautiful, but because I had never belonged to anything or anyone else.”
Cleopatra: Is it not interesting to note – that we have focused upon our titles and not our being… “All strange and terrible events are welcome, but comforts we despise.” How is this so?

Marilyn: I see where you are going with this –We should look towards the comforts of being a woman – and ourselves…. “A career is wonderful, but you can’t curl up with it on a cold night.” However, “I restore myself when I’m alone.” Oh, how it must have felt for your honor to have been challenged as a woman….
Cleopatra: “
My honour was not yielded, but conquered merely.” I continue now to rein on — of not in the body that I inhabited as Queen, but as a spirit in the people’s memories.

Marilyn: Yes…. Yes… “I’ve never dropped anyone I believed in.” Because we are all human – and need to be cared for – as, “I have feelings too. I am still human. All I want is to be loved, for myself and for my talent.”
Cleopatra: It is good to see that we are not that much different….. You and I….

Marilyn: Yes, I agree—Two Queens of their Time – bound by uncommon thoughts of their days.
